I think they said it will stay up, but I don't remember when and where they said it.
I still have the discs, but Mass Effect 1 has that weird copy protection where you're only allowed to install the game on 5 different PCs. Total, not just at the same time. 😕
Did you redeemed the code in Origin?
The game will not be rendered unplayable in Origin or Steam, people paid money for them. 😉EA also did released a SecuROM De-Authorization Tool for some games, ME1 included. Should still be online.
Windows 10 does not support SecuROM any more anyway.

Yeah, sure. I haven't installed from the disc in a decade. This is more a worst-case-scenario situation where EA goes out of business and drops the Origin service, since no one actually ever owns the games they buy. 😛
Yeah, that is a worst-case-scenario for all DRM Clients, and it already happened.
