Will there be a Mass Effect 4 and if there will be one will it have Shepard?
For one, Shepard is the game. You take out Shepard then it's not the same game. I say keep Shepard not only because he's the base of the game but to me he is the character I went through the galaxy with. I have played hundreds of games similar to this game but out of all of them i'd say the Mass Effect Trilogy was my most favorite. I have 2 ideas for a new game but one includes not having Shepard but it actually makes sense. The one without Shepard involves going way back before Mass Effect 1 and starting somewhere around the prothean age. As well you can make it where you play an alien (prothean, etc). My second idea was to have another universe where there Shepard died and needed a new commander (can also have an actual commander take over but was evil and pretty much was handing over the alliance) then have it where they found out how to go through universes (gaps in time and space) and get to a living Shepard's universe and take him to there universe. Also a good twist is to have the aliens and humans have polar characteristics like good become bad and the original bad become good.
I really like the mass effect trilogy and would hate to see it be killed because of a continued story line but without the main character. Need answers and if anyone has a different opinion or would like to say something feel free.
This is what we know:
There will be a new Mass Effect game.
It will likely not be called Mass Effect 4.
Shepard is not in the game.
Shepard's squadmates are very likely not in the game.
The story will have no relation to the Mass Effect Trilogy.
The game runs on the Frostbite 3 Engine.
The game is being developed by BioWare Montreal, who previously contributed to ME2 and ME3 by making DLC and the multiplayer mode.
It's going to be a third person shooter / RPG hybrid like the first three games.
That's pretty much all we know right now.
