Game won’t launch on Steam Deck at all. And when I try to load the launcher directly from desktop mode, the launcher completely freezes the Steam Deck and I can’t use my track pads or use the keyboard and have to force restart.
That's true if you didn't need the EA app to play. For example, the Ubisoft app will launch when you play Assassin's Creed and update itself, but there's never been a problem with it. I don't know if the Ubisoft development team communicates with the Steam team in any way. The important thing for us players is that it doesn't bother us or slow us down when playing....
I've tried lots of things off YouTube but no luck with anything. I think we are going to have to wait for EA to take there thumb out of there bum and fix this. not sure how long we will have to wait.
I’ve tried all the “fixes” on the Steam forum and online and nothing helps. Absolutely ridiculous to require a **bleep** launcher on a 20 year old game when every other games launcher works fine. Fix this, EA, make your games compatible with Linux, Steam is the top dog and if you don’t make your games compatible with SteamOS your sales are going to suffer. Not going to be buying from EA again until this is resolved.
