Game won’t launch on Steam Deck at all. And when I try to load the launcher directly from desktop mode, the launcher completely freezes the Steam Deck and I can’t use my track pads or use the keyboard and have to force restart.

Ive had this problem for days now. So frustrating. I cant find a fix that works.
Same for me, the game was working fine a few days ago then BAM, now it's not starting.
Same here. Since the EA App update from Thursday the game doesn't start anymore on Steam Deck. Even a complete reinstall didn't bring anything...
same here. been playing mass effect Andromeda no problem. now it won't launch. the steam deck logo spins around for a few minutes then goes back to the start or go to a black screen

I have now reinstalled the game and EA has simply done nothing again, nothing of quality for the players, what is not working..... I am playing Mass effect legendary edition
I don't think EA App or the Mass Effect games officially support Linux. Valve made the game playable on Steam Deck with the Proton compatibility layer, so you might have to wait for Valve to update Proton and/or Steam OS as an official fix.
In the meantime: The Steam forum of Mass Effect Legendary Edition has a discussion about this problem with suggested workarounds.
But that's not a problem with the Steam deck. The Mass Effect games went fine on the Steam deck until the EA application updates. The EA application update came out and the games don't run. Why don't games from Ubisoft or Bethesda do it, for example, they also release application updates but the games run without problems. As I read on the forums, only the EA application sometimes has problems after the updates.....
I think it's definitely frustrating, especially because the EA App requirement adds nothing to the experience on Steam. These games would just work if they got rid of that. I hope EA will at least consider better supporting Steam OS in the future with the Steam Machines around the corner.
