I get this message -
you must own this game to join your friend. you can purchase this game from origin store
And it started this week with new Origin update.
I can play alone in random games, and my friend too, but when we try to connect to each other we both get those messages.
We played together before. And after this week update we cannot.
He has Mass Effect Trilogy version, and I have standalone retail copy of N7 version. (CE)
Having this very same issue that started today.
Yup, Same exact issue.
My friends can play with each other, but I purchased the trilogy, and I cannot connect to them, nor them to me....
Seems like something in the Origin reference code disassociated the different versions and do not allow them to play with each other.
I contacted Origin/EA and they tried to tell me that it was because I didnt have the EXACT SAME DLCs as my friends. Which is not the issue. I have two friends who can play with each other still, and one of them has 8 DLCs and the other has 6. No issues.
EA please work this out with Origin!
Yes the one friend we have has the Trilogy version. He can't see our invites and we cant see is if he hosts. It obvisouly thinks Trilogy is its own game...
UPDATE: Talked to EA rep, said this issue was being escalated, and looked into at the moment, said I'd be notified by email once it has been resolved.
If anyone comes up with a solution it would be greatly appreciated as well.
I bought the trilogy as well same proplem. i cant even find games in random matchmaking the only way i can play is i have to host the game and then have the settings very specific so my friends can join as well and then i change the setting to what ever we want. im kinda mad about that cause my internet sucks so when i play with my buds now there is a ton of lag. any idea of how to fix?
