Can't move Sims to Garden

I'm trying to move sims into the house plots in the garden but I'm not getting a prompt to do that? It just makes me build random unoccupied houses and I can't exit out without building anything or delete the house once I've had to build it.

  • Unfortunately it seems that there was no intention (at least on launch) to allow players to be able to move people into the garden. Its not clear if this will be changed in the future or not :(

Wait, so what are all the empty plots of land for then?

it looks like they just decided to allow you to make a bunch of random builds that could work as alternate homes for your own sim. its a super lazy integration of the garden  IMO, especially since there's no real explanation for what it used to be in the PC version. it makes a bunch of people think their game is bugged.

  • I played the PC version years and years ago. It was always like it is now. Lots you can just build on - you could never move sims into the Garden. It's supposed to be a place for your sim to explore their creativity and get exclusive essences that aren't in the Wii version that are required for the 6 exclusive PC sims you can move in. I always thought it was lame that you couldn't move Sims into the Garden.

The Garden was originally a PC-introduced feature with online functionality. To my understanding, it acted as a showcase, and you could visit other players and view their builds. The Garden had unique essences which is why it was kept at all in the Switch version. The Switch version lacks the online though.
