Pissed off ....

How do I get my money back for the purchases I have made and not been able to play? (If they even do that) I've updated my game, uninstalled/reinstalled it, cleared caches, repaired it, checked the video card was on the right setting... It's still not working. All I'm getting is a black screen with the music playing. Nothing shows up.

I bought some sims expansions and was intending to play them after this semester was over and haven't been able to play. Do they do refunds? I don't want to play this game anymore, I'm getting tired of constantly needing to mess around with the settings on my computer just to be able to play and having only a 50/50 chance of it working.

  • LaLoca55  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, if you can get that far.

If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag.  Hit Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
