The Geeky Prospecting Cave

I have been trying to get action figures to complete Vic's challenge in MySims but the prospecting cave is not working. It remains blue at all times. I have restarting the game, restarted my switch and gone to the cave on different days/different times etc. 

Nothing seems to be fixing it and it continues to be blue no matter where I go within the geeky cave. I can't carry on with the game because I can't complete the challenge. The area by the train station is working fine, just not the cave.

Someone help please
