ARE YOU SERIOUS? A List of NFS Payback Fails

Dear Developers,

- no open World free roaming: why would you even not implement this feature? we cant even show our cars to our friends. we want to drive together over the map and do events on the fly and so on. we are really disappointed. this is the most disappointing missing feature!!

- no real multiplayer: the multiplayer is a joke, too. why are there no private lobbies. i want to do a drag contest just with my friend. i want to do a drift contest just with my friend. i want to.... ahh f*** it. why is that not possible. and we cant even select all of the race modes in the public lists. why?? i mean  EA is one of the biggest and most experienced and richest companies. you cant be serious, bringing out the game like that. i preordered it. i am really disappointed.

- bad clone: i mean, it is so obvious, where you got your inspiration from. the crew! but why do you mess up this concept. we need free roaming with friends. we need car switching on the fly. why the hell do we have to go to a garage everytime. the menu managing in garage is complicated, too. this could have been made way more intuitive. When I heard about the game and realized, that it will be something like the crew with nfs gameplay (because the driving feeling in the crew could never really compete) I instantly fell in love. You could have made the best racing game ever. But.... aaaaaaarghhhh. ouch. uurrghh. shame on you!

- unlock tuning parts: What is that bull***** that you have to unlock the tuning parts. it is so unlogical, too. "jump 3 times through a poster, then you can customize your bumper". paaaah. what is thissss??????? oh man...

- some other nice features: I would love to browse through friends garages. look at their cars. talk to them about it. this would be a nice feature. ingame music: why cant you skip songs? and it feels like there are only 5 tracks. no love in this point, too. And it would be cool, if you could play your own music from a folder on your hdd. or maybe, if you want to be cool, implement a spotify support 😉

I think thats all for now. I know that gaming development is a hard job. I know that programming games gets harder and more difficult every year. But really. Take your time! Dont mess up a game like that. Because I am really sure, that you are aware of all this stuff I wrote above. I dont want to insult you. But I hope you understand what I mean, because you really disappointed the whole fanbase! sorry to tell you. But it is the truth!

I play NFS since 1994. And I will be looking for future titles. But really. Dont do this * again. It is our most beloved hobby. Dont let the industrial madness ruin it.

Love!

"we need car switching on the fly." -I don't need this. "why cant you skip songs?" -you can. The rest of your post is OK.

Need For Speed Payback has so much in common with Mass Effect Andromeda.

    Improved physics
    Very poor multiplayer
    Enjoyable single player
    Very poor voice acting
Missing something you can't quite put your finger on that its predecessors had in spades

Above all else: both games deflated passionate fans like moi.
    EA: Please get it together!

Very good observations, I completely agree with you. Especially on the soundtrack, after 45 minutes of gameplay I started to hear songs that I had already heard before so I just muted the soundtrack entirely and now alt tab to my Spotify to play whatever music I want.

Online free roam missing from this game is probably the biggest miss of EA for this fiscal year, even with the whole Battlefront 2 fiasco.

  • I actually thought this game was better than the crew it copied from the crew but did a better job of it, it did not feel as grindy (it still feels grindy but not as bad) the car classes are better Race, Drift, Drag, Off-Road, Runner versus street, dirt, perf, raid, circuit (3 of which were asphalt cars and 2 offroad, stupid)

but the card system is not one of things they should have copied from the crew but i will admit they did it better than the crew

as for unlocking customization would you rather wait until a certain rep level? i actually liked the way they did it

i disagree i would like car switching as sometimes i want to change a car for an activity i am close to but find it annoying to go back to the garage and then back to the activity it takes too long

also to add on about skipping songs it is mapped to the right HAT/arrow on controllers

  • you are right. they did not mess up the whole concept, like i wrote. that was wrong.

they just completely messed up multiplayer in any aspect. the other fails i listed are minor.

i had fun playing the game for 30 hours or so.

but now i dont see any sense of playing further.

yes, i like this idea. unlocking tuning parts with rep sounds good. makes more sense to me than the current system. because you have to absolve the same stupid tasks with every damn car again and again. thats ridiculous.
