Updated my graphics drivers, visual C++ or whatever it was and even the windows runtime stuff (both x64 and x86). Tried clearing the EA app cache and rebooted my pc after all of that. I bought it about a month ago and I haven't ben able to launch or play it once. Any other suggestions? Or am I getting a refund?

Try reinstalling your game on a different drive, don't see any reason why the issue would not be fixed after reinstalling your game.
Made no difference
I'm the one who posted from my mobile at the time. I reinstalled on a different hard drive after updating everything and the same thing happens ctd after intro video before even seeing the main menu.
Also tried running in Win8 compatibility mode as administrator with EA pp as administrator. Still no dice. Game crashes to desktop after intro video. No error message, no warnings. Just minimize to system bar and disappears. Even tried Vista SP2 compatibility. Nothing works and I can't play the game.
What are your PC specifications?
