Battery drain Google play services

I have noticed that the Google play services goes rogue after playing NFS no limits. The game by itself doesn't consume much battery but after quitting the game and leaving the phone on standby , Google play services' batteryusage continues to increase and ends up draining all the battery. I have the latest version of both (no beta)
