is anyone else having trouble with these races? i seem to have lost just as many as ive won and more often than not if you "just" win a race you gain less points than you lose if you "just" lose a ra...
@jimmywdavis09 I agree with you about the driving through traffic part, many other players including me have observed and complained about it. The "expert" dude is simply being stubborn
Now, opponents driving through traffic part can be explained as follows:
1) Each race seem to have 2-3 "presets" of traffic and it is possible that your opponent is racing different traffic. If you start memorizing traffic for each race you will notice slight variations in traffic cars position especially around blind corners. I've seen ghost cars driving through traffic, at the same time I have seen them crashing into invisible objects. It simply means that the ghost is facing different traffic.
2) Another explanation, a complicated one, which applies even when both players are facing same traffic is that the traffic position is relative. The traffic cars are "trigger activated"; each traffic car starts moving in a pre-determined direction when YOUR cars crosses a certain spot. If your opponent car is 100 meter ahead of you it could have dodged a traffic car earlier, but what you see is the ghost running through your version of traffic.
To conclude, learn to focus on your car instead of the opponent because, unlike campaign races, the opponent cars run in an alternate timeline which could have different traffic.
@jimmywdavis09 Everyone knows that jump physics is broken. Also, some of the ramps in BRR will send you straight into an overpass 10 out of 10 times if you hit them at high speeds. Try to avoid them or do not engage nitro when you are about to hit the ramp (I think that is the problem).
Drifting needs practice. When you turn you start losing speed at some point. Same with drifts... Avoid vicious drifts and learn to stop drifting at the right time.

I believe that the second answer is the one we are experiencing. It is not just BRR, you can see the same in normal races while grinding for BP/cash/batteries/whatever. It is not always easy to be seen with cars moving the same direction, but you can spot is quite easily when cars are crossing your path. Take for example Bad Egg race (final race of CH18). Turn on Easydrive to have the exactly same conditions - and then you can see that with a different start (perfect/good, other), or even whether or not you turn on nitro in the first half, you meet those crossing cars in different position - and it is not always that the faster you go, the farther right they are.
Therefore I believe something like triggers is definitely going on, and that also explains the "ghost driving through cars" phenomenon - since the position of the traffic cars is dependent on your race, then position of cars when the ghost actually drives can be different. And since it would be funny and puzzling to see both your traffic and ghost traffic, it may well be the opponent drives through your car as it was not there (and the opposite - there is a chance you can see an opponent driving INTO car you do not see, but hardly to spot that).
This seems to be heading for a very exciting finish. Jony should have been displaced from the top a bit earlier. He would have got more time to race. and overall it would be more exciting.
@TheRealJony @jin1995x All the best for the final dash.
For me, I think I am winding down Preseason @4905 🙂
Still collecting scores...
seems it is much more complicated than tournaments has been, where the result was instant.
Anyway, has been fun, when not taken too seriously. I hardly ever managed to race more than a couple races per day, only last two days I went for the newly introduced sponsor cash prizes (15 races a day). So my total number of BRR races is 174, ended up with SP about 4080.
been playing brr pretty regularly since it was introduced, got the 650 race mission prize over the weekend, managed to just reach icon rank but then soon got my a** handed to me and come crashing back down, think i finished on something like 4350 ish sp, i really hope that the devs have given brr some serious thought and that it will actually add to the game experience, if not then combined with all the other nonsense of the latest update it might be time to call it quits
@jin1995x once you enter a race (i.e. you click on the race button) you have entered that race as far as the server knows. Loss, game crash, force stop, clear cache >>> loss or the dreaded "you did not cross the finish line". However, I don't know what happens when you start a race before event finish and complete it after finish. I would be interested in knowing though.
I was on 4865 SP with 5 min to go and decided to keep racing to try crack 4900... paid for my sins and ended up somewhere in the 4700-4800 range.
I hope the dev team remove some of those ridiculous ramps that slam you into bridges for the next season... and please delete 'cheater' races. Nothing more annoying than having a fully tuned CCX on max PR, only to be smoked in a straight line by an untuned CCX.
