When were you able to play last? If you try a repair (or verify integrity on Steam) does that change anything? Do you have a controller connected?

If you can get to the title screen can you ress: up, down, left, right (directional pad) and then screen prompt Enter, snf try join MP?

Can you rephrase that, I don't quite understand the request. And in the meantime it's worth disconnecting the joystick. It's probably not an issue, but having it disconnected will reduce potential complexity.
