Can't install NFS: Rivals on my PC

I bought the game yesterday, it downloaded, and then on the instllation process it just froze. It keeps says installing and I left it there for 10 hours, overnight. On this morning had to shut down the PC. Back trying to install the game, still no success, now gives me a directX internal error message when I click install.

Anyone can solve this? I've asked to repair the game already and nothing changes.

My specs:

Windows 8.1

8 Gb RAM

Radeon HD 7870 Graphics card

Intel core I5 3330 processor

Gigabyte B75M motherboard

What is the exact error message you are seeing with DirectX?

You might need to reinstall or repair Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012

Thanks a lot EA_Najat for the fast answer, I apreciate it a lot.

The link below shows a screenshot from the error message. This message also followed when trying to install burnout paradise a few minutes ago when I came back.

As it's in portuguese, Here's the translation of the error message:

"DirectX configuration error: an internal error occcoured"

    http://prntscr.com/612t6c

As suggested, I'll be repairing or reinstalling Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012

Also, if there are any log files that would help understand and solve this problem, just let me know, I'll be willing to send them

Best regards and thanks again for the help

Alright, so there is a folder in the game files with DirectX so players can locate the program and install it from there.

Since you've been able to download the game, you can try to install (or reinstall) Microsoft Visual C++ by using the program in the game folder by default the application is located here:

    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Need for Speed(TM) Rivals\__Installer\vc\vc2012Update1\redist

Note: your windows user account needs the administrator rights.

If the issue persists, try ruining both programs as suggested here.

    vcredist x 64 and vcredist x 86

  • Thanks again EA_Najat

I appreciate your efforts on helping me solve this problem. It worked like a charm, the game installed and could be played perfectly.
