Hello @Letaks,
1. Run the Game as Administrator
Sometimes, the game or EA app may require elevated permissions to launch properly.
- Right-click on Steam (or the EA Desktop app) shortcut and select Run as Administrator.
- Do the same for Need for Speed Payback in your Steam library (right-click > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files, then right-click the game executable and choose Run as Administrator).
2. Check EA App Installation
There may be a problem with the EA app itself, even after reinstalling. Try these steps:
- Open the EA App and go to Settings (the gear icon in the top-right corner).
- Click on Repair or check if there are any pending updates for the EA app.
- If the issue persists, completely uninstall the EA App again, make sure it's removed from your system, and reinstall it from EA's official website.
3. Update Graphics Drivers
Outdated graphics drivers can cause issues with launching games.
- Go to the NVIDIA or AMD website (depending on your GPU) and download the latest drivers.
- After installing them, restart your PC and try launching the game again.
4. Verify Steam and EA App Settings
There could be an issue with how Steam and the EA app are configured.
- Steam Settings:
- Open Steam, go to Steam > Settings > Downloads, and make sure the Download Region is set to a location near you.
- In Steam, go to Settings > In-Game and ensure the Use the Big Picture Overlay when using a Steam Input enabled controller option is unchecked.
- EA App Settings:
- In the EA app, go to Settings > General and disable Enable Cloud Storage for the game if it's enabled.
5. Disable Background Applications
Other programs or services might be interfering with the game.
- Disable any unnecessary background applications (especially antivirus, system optimizers, or anything else that might affect the EA app or Steam).
- Try disabling Windows Game Mode and Xbox Game Bar in the Windows Settings.
Best regards,
