I have been having issues using my ps4 controller in payback. I'm using ds4 emulator to play and it has worked well until yesterday when the game didn't recognize the controller anymore. Any ideas how I could keep playing with the controller?

Unfortunately, using PS4 controller with an emulator is not officially supported in NFS Payback, so I can only recommend to double-check and eventually reinstall/update the software, which you're using. What might also help is to delete the whole "settings" folder from the Need for Speed Payback folder located in your documents.
