Dear Criterion! (NEXT-GEN NFS GAME)

Hey, so I read this article talking about how Criterion will be taking over the production of the next NFS title due to come out for PS5 and next gen consoles probably...

But I just want to say what we want... and I hope others can build on this.

I thought the night and day thing in heat was a nice touch and should go on, make it better tho. Listen to everyone talking about how it should be done better. (CONSTRUCTIVE  CRITICISM PPL PLZ)

Cop chases? YES ( Just take a look at MW and Undercover and Hot Pursuit)

Customization and Tuning? YES (If I wanted a simulator I'd get Gran Turismo or some other racing game, but this is Need for Speed, customize ur car, race on the streets and all that.)

Drag Races? Drift Challenges? Circuit and Sprints? YES,YES,YESSS

And also, please do map expansions on a seasonal basis to keep the community engaged. Heat has been out and has left a huge portion of the map untouched and now it has become pointless to play. Races become repetitive after everything is complete ( great time to drop a story and map expansion)

IMO if the core game is good and I want more i dont mind paying for a season pass for the extra stories and stuff. Look at GTA 5, it has lasted years without a new game, cause the Expansions are enough.

Extra cars shouldn't be charged extra, only story and map expansion.

Race creators? Yes, this keeps the community engaged without the developers putting in work.

For now that's all but I hope others can expand on this

  • @iKyeaa Continous update in racing games now are what NFS isn't doing.Judging by past NFS games' updates, seasonal updated contents are impossible no matter which dev makes the game for EA.Day and Night cycle has been done since HP2010/MW2012 so even fake-Criterion can still do it.Race/Route creator isn't in past NFS before,I doubt EA will let such thing happen after all these years.Another big thing is this fake-Criterion never made a single racing game before(ever since Alex and core left Criterion in 2013)So what we will get in the end is a more crowded version Ghost games(whose UK studio is directly in Criterion)This Criterion itself is just a supportive dev for Star Wars and BattleField. So it has nothing to do with the Criterion did Burnout and HP2010/MW2012/Rivals.The style of the game is decided by EA not the dev,so fake-Criterion wont have right to choose the style/direction of the game.About the map expansion,of all NFS the only game with it was MW2012 since it was made as a Burnout game until Criterion was too rushed AF to make the real MW2 project into full game.So NFS wont have map expansion even with new dev taking over

I agree and honestly, I have no interest in playing the next gen nfs game, as I'm sure it will be more of the same disappointments that have plagued the nfs series over the years.

That I even bought This game is surprising to me.

  • I get it and I don't think EA cares but, if they are looking for answers on what to do, maybe this will help.

Other games and franchises have moved on to have this kind of gameplay features such as GTA (with track creation keeping the game alive over the years).

It's too bad EA only cares about making money short term, we can see this through all their other games, Fifa has a new game every year completely different from the year before.

But I guess I just hope for something better before I buy a new NFS game. It's sad.

@ZeroMcDol I totally get that. I bought this game a few weeks ago. After being disappointed with payback in 2017 I thought I wasn't gonna touch nfs again in a while. Then I saw Heat, Hoping it was better than payback, and it was, but that is all it was.

  • @iKyeaa

Same here.  I had skipped 2015 and Payback, but upon seeing Heat, at least at first glance, it seemed that the franchise was finally moving in the right direction.  Unfortunately tho, Heat turned out to be just another form of disappointment, so at this point, trust is completely out the window for NFS games.

Yes and let me add to your very nice post.

EA will be making the direction of the game as you said...true!

However, we should do all we can in this thread to keep stressing our needs for a more desirable game next round!

I do realize EA will most likely continue with it's half baked games and corporate greed cash grab.

I would like to see many of the suggested views already posted in this thread.

Drags, ( Drifting but in MP mode) and Sprints and Circuit events but with bigger lobbies and more people.

The launch day has to be perfect too, no more of these bugs and epic missing promised features either like the last three games.

So tired of the $80 raid on my wallet only to get a game of broken dreams and promises!

    Have a good day.
