Direct X Error Device Hung

When I try to play Need for Speed Heat I get a Direct X error and I have tried updating my graphics card drivers but it didn't fix the problem.
Every other game I have played lately has worked fine and even games like Need for Speed Payback work just fine.

Windows 11 Pro (Upgraded from Windows 10 Pro)

Ryzen 7 5800X

NZXT Kraken X62 280mm

ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II

32GB Corsair Vengeance 3600MHz (AMD Certified)

GeForce RTX 3070

  • Hello @mrvelocity1577,

    1. Verify DirectX Installation

Since NFS Heat uses DirectX 12, ensure that DirectX is properly installed and up-to-date on your system.

    • Check DirectX Version:
      1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
      2. Type dxdiag and press Enter to open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
      3. In the System tab, check the DirectX version listed (it should show at least DirectX 12).
    • Update DirectX:

    2. Reinstall the Visual C++ Redistributables

DirectX issues can sometimes be related to missing or corrupt Visual C++ redistributable packages, which are required by many games.

    Best regards,

    Hey @mrvelocity1577

Please complete a clean installation of your latest driver and ensure that all Windows updates are installed. If that doesn't work, please try the previous drivers. You can follow this article on our website.
