it's working for me after i changed the display resolution from 1920x1080 to 1650x1050 and i also deleted my PROFILEOPTIONS_profile from Nfs payback folder in Documents before changing the resolution.@Amboli69@Cubalika@EKSelenc@Hazard1518@KmonBaby

Okay I got the game working. No problems and played for three hours last night.The DirectX error #38813 existed when running the latest Nvidia driver version 388.31.I DID NOT do a complete uninstallation, but DID clean install driver version 385.69.As you may know, Nividia drivers do not always overwrite existing ones if the current versions are the same or newer. So what I ended up with was STILL version 388.31. Somehow, however, everything is working.This Direct X error # 38813 does not appear to be related to the Windows 10 Fall update. I am running version 1607, not anything newer. It evidently is a problem with the Nvidia drivers and this game alone.Also, I had no problems running the game WITH multiple displays activated.As previously stated, by clean installing an older driver version over the top of the newer one, it is now working. It seems like everyone is finding a different solution to the same problem, which unfortunately makes it harder to pinpoint a direct cause. I'm posting this info hoping it helps someone else.

Hello i am an AMD user (gpu) with Win10(r9 fury nitro), and if i set post processing at 2 i have no more directx error. It's clear is that a game issue, not a driver issue if we have the same message with AMD & NVIDIA like the stuttering only in the prologue. Try to erase settings in your document folder (just the settings).

As I can tell from all the posts on this forum so far, all the high end 10 series cards are having this issue, I have seen people with TITAN XP and 1080Ti all experiencing this issue, I am having this issue as well and I have a i7-8700K+GTX 1080, the only way to solve this for now is to play at preset high setting

I had Payback working and then installed the latest version of Geforce and after that I was getting this error.After 2 hours of looking through the forums I did 2 things1. Repair the VCRedist install for VC2013 (I ran the installer in the __Installer folder and selected repair)2. Ran the task manager and killed teamviewer (I come across this before)and boom. The game runs.

So far I have tried:

Reinstalling DirectX
Clean boot
Reinstalling Graphic Drivers and rebooting

Gentlemen i found out the issue that maybe everyone is having here its the windows virtual memory i set mine to 10gb and i can run Payback on ultra settings and also Battlefield V open beta on ultra and here are my temps on predator sense (Predator G3-572 Core i5 7300HQ, GTX1050Ti 8gb ram kingston ddr4 2666mhz -- stock ram already ordered 2x 16 hyperx and upgraded my stock liteon 128gb m.2 ssd to a WD blue 3D nand 2tb m.2) hope this helps whoever is having issues with crashes in any origin EA games and saying this i have teamviwer running along with firefox and loads more didn't needed to exit any to play both games on ultra specs and both runing smooth

Follow these simple steps to fix dxgi error device removed
1) Go To Windows Search
2) Search Regedit
3) Right click and select run as administrator
4) Opne HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
5) Open SYSTEM
6) Open CurrentControlSet
7) Open Control
8) Click GraphicsDrivers
9) Right Click And Select New In Windows Registry
10) Select DWORD (32-bit) Value
11) Type TdrLevel (Write it exactly T and L should be capital)
12) Double click on TdrLevel
13) Make sure value data is 0
14) Now restart your pc
Done! problem solved

Well you can change settings before continuing the game, where it says resume under prologue just press escape
