@XGCSith
"No its not a gimmick. Its a limited edition production car that happens to be a factory 9 second drag car. Its meant to be a commemoration to the old school production drag cars from the 60s. Also, considering Moonshine in Ethanol, you can already run cars off Moonshine with the right fuel/ignition parts."
Yeah but we don't do that. You know why? Because it's dumb. It's a gimmick.
"I'm not throwing a fit. You're just being ignorant and cant see the fact that the car is not a gimmick and it is a great achievement in American automotive history."
Which means nothing outside the USA, to the rest of the world it's just a pile of scrap metal with an overpowered engine that can run 400 meters really fast. But I was willing to go with "to each his own" until you made it personal and started shoving your star spangled banner in my face .
"You're blind by Europe's obsession with The Nurbugring and cant accept the fact the cultures are different between the US and Europe. We focus on drag racing, Europe focuses on road racing. How is it a waste of resources? Who bashes Koenigsegg? You do realize it takes more than $80,000 to build a 9 second drag car right? Not just anyone can build a dragster. It takes a lot of time, dedication and money to build one just like a hypercar. Stop making it seem hyercars are better than everything. Also, I never said it hasn't been done before."
Actually it's Europe and Asia. Great minds think alike.
Anyway our "obsession" with the Nurburgring leads to innovations outside the race track. What is running a quarter mile fast supposed to achieve? The only reason that's even a thing is because it's a type of racing that's easy to get into and doesn't require much investment.
"It has never been done in a production car level."
Yes and I've already explained why. It's a waste of resources that leads to nothing.
"Obviously you didn't otherwise you would know that its not exactly safety that causes cars to not be eligible for legal importing. We have safety and emissions standards, whats so wrong with that?"
"It's not safety, it's safety and emissions".
That's basically what you just said in a nutshell. Jesus Christ...
"If you want to blame someone for the rules, blame Mercedes Benz for it. They are the reason for the importing laws in the first place."
They're also the reason you have automobiles to begin with, not to mention countless innovations for them throughout the years. What contribution did Chrysler ever make to the car industry as a whole, aside from making poor business decisions, lowering the standards for everybody and getting bailed out by the government?
"Want to blame someone for the emissions standards, blame California. They are the ones that started it. Its called C.A.R.B."
So California isn't part of the US now? Well, that sounds like a well oiled machine.
"I'm not a blind patriot. I like my country and I will chose to defend it if and when that time comes. What exactly have I proven to you?"
That you suffer of blind patriotism and you're in denial. You just did it again.
"It rakes more than an engine and power to be a fast car. Just because a car can make more power does not mean it will be faster."
Exactly, which is why the Challenger Demon would lose horribly.
"Do tell us how. "
How about the fact that first gen Diablo's used regular car batteries and didn't have anything in place to ensure that they didn't die after a few weeks? How about the fact that the hydraulics on the doors weren't weather-proof at all and gave out in a matter of months? Or the fact that they did not feature any kind of adjustable seats and you had to drive with your right hand on the shifter or else you risked hitting it with your elbow? You want more?
@HazzardOutlaw
"It's all good your biased and so am I so get over it."
You're*
And I'm not biased. I like American cars, just not the Challenger Demon.
"It also depends on if the driver has a clue on how to race his car or not. So it's not only the car you have to beat but the driver also."
Rubbish. The USA is the only place in the world where "Can you drive stick?" is a real question.
"Yea he is dogging hard and probably think's we will get upset"
That ship has sailed. Now you're at the denial stage.
"I wish he would preach this garbage to Mexicans. Then we wouldn't need a wall to put an end to illegal immigration. He could stop it for us by preaching his hate for America which could save us a ton of money."
Except Mexicans aren't a problem for us, Syrian refugees are. And it's about to get worse courtesy of the insecure control freak you handed the nuke button to.
Thanks for that, by the way.
@BLVD69
"Dude, you just set the record straight..."
No he didn't. He's just doing the same thing he's been doing ever since he got triggered by my comment on the Challenger Demon, pounding his chest and yelling "We are the best at everything!" and "You hate America!" as Americans always like to do.
"I don't know what it is with the folks from Europe but they sure wear their blinders well!"
That's literally what you're doing. Every time you're confronted with logic you put your patriotic sunglasses on and act like the other guy is being anti-American. It's so cliche I can't even tell if you guys are being serious or just trying to troll me.
"I posted a link to laws on imports, I guess that guy from Europe didn't read it or just thought it didn't matter."
I'm already familiar with your import laws. Maybe you should spend less time posting random links and more time getting informed, all you ever do here is post links to articles and act like it's some kind of undeniable proof when half the time they aren't even relevant to the discussion, like you did when me and CLIP122214 were talking about the NFS sales.
Well, either that or kissing a**.
"Anytime we Americans try to explain our culture of Automobiles, people from Europe act like we're blowing smoke."
Probably because you always blow your top and take it personally whenever someone criticizes anything from America.
@EA_Darko
"Threads do not get locked simply because a question has been answered."
I've seen you do that before.
