When it comes to drifting in Heat, having the right setup of parts matter's a lot.
Logically most people go for the fastest built using Drift and Showcase parts but that will only make the car wheel spin or bight back when it grips again.
After a week of experimenting with different parts I have found that using a RWD car with Speedcross Suspension and Differential combined with Drag tires Super or Elite.
Live tune no down force, steering how you like
Traction control off and Brake to drift.
The mix of Offroad and Drift in Speedcross parts combined with Drag tires gives the car a nice transition when chaining.
The drag tires also score more points.
I doubled my PBs done with a 4WD Subaru.
This setup will show a lower performance rating
but trust me on this build.
Hope it helps guys

My setup is simple :
I use the Mitsubishi Evo X (it's my pre order bonus).
Just use the Roots compressor.
Tyres, Differential and suspension = drift
Gearbox = 5 gears
(Engine = Pro minimum).
Drift type is Brake. Strong steering and low downforce.
My IP is around 220 / 230 and I break every score in the first lap. I beat the 260 IP mission with no difficulty.
I also break every drift challenge with ease.
Maybe people choose the wrong car of a hard one. For example, I really have trouble when I try to drift with the 350Z. I tried to apply the exact same settings but it doesn't work. Car drift too much and I can't hold the drift. the car ends up crashing.

See, the 350z is actually a good car to drift with but for some its not in heat. I just dont understand why the gameplay mechanics were changed from payback when there was nothing wrong with it- 6 years ago
Yeah I know but i'm sure it's just a tune issue.
I might wanna take a look for parts. Maybe the 350Z has already a nice drift base and doesn't need more drift parts. I've unlocked the 350Z from U2 after completing the drift missions.
I've just added engine parts and keep the Road parts for tyres, diff and standard live tune. The car handled way better than with drift parts.
Also, 4WD cars can handle way better. That's maybe why it's easier to drift with this car than the 350Z.
I might wanted take a look at this feature. RWD vs 4WD. 4WD are more likely to drift with ease.

The Evo 08 smashes drift challenges with ease got 137,000 points on the raceway drift course and can average between that and 100,000 every time.
Used this car to 3 star all the drift traps within a day.
Have also managed similar scores using the subaru wrx and underground 350z.
Running a dual turbo, showcase suspension, drift tires, 7 speed gearbox and a showcase differential.

I really think that drift is way easier with AWD.
Lancer Evo IX & X, Subaru are 4WD cars.

Ok brother I'll play around with those settings and report back on how that works out for me. ☑️😁
