    • Your anti-virus may be preventing the communication. Add the program file for the game to your anti-virus program's exceptions or whitelist so it's identified as being safe.
    • Also software firewalls on systems and hardware firewalls on routers will prevent your computer from connecting to our server.
    • If the issue persists maybe you can try to open TCP or UDP ports:

To avoid poor performance during Internet play, be sure that you close any file sharing, streaming audio, or chat programs prior to entering gameplay. These applications can monopolize your connection’s bandwidth, causing lag or other undesirable effects.

Need for Speed™ Hot Pursuit uses the following TCP and UDP port(s) for  Internet play:

    TCP 44260-44280, 42124, 9946, 80, 14150-14199
    Outgoing: 1000, 3659, 25000-29999
    Incoming: 1000, 3659, 25000-29999

Please consult your router or personal firewall documentation for information on how to allow game related traffic on these ports (or this help article)

Need for Speed™ Hot Pursuit supports only broadband connections for online play.

When logging in to play online, you are logging into the EA servers. To play online, you may use an existing EA Online account, or create a new one.
