Frame Rate Drops in NFS Most Wanted PC

I'm wondering if this is normal... my frame rate drops to the low 20s sometimes evecn 15 in certain scenes but usually stays around 25-35 and in some areas goes up to 60fps

To Criterion's credit they did release 5 patches for Hot Pursuit 2010 in a timely fashion and they will get Most Wanted 2012 fixed for us very soon I'm sure. I'm just glad it's not a Black Box game like NFS The Run. It took those guys 3 months to release the 1 and only patch and that game is still buggy as all get out.
