Solved

Game completely unplayable (car randomly decides to control itself)

Basically as above, playing on PC, car randomly drives in to walls, won't turn, won't accelerate or brake.  Happens playing either as cop or racer, using either wired xbox 360 controller or keyboard.

I'm also getting hit by multiple ESF's when no one is around.

After doing a bit of reading it looks like the game has been abandoned for a long time now.  It's sad, because it looked like a lot of fun and I emjoyed playing through the training.  It's just as soon as I joined the auto-log games it went to **bleep**.

Actually the team investigated this, turns out this was caused by the kinect causing unintentional communication with the game.

    @BrynM

Can you please try the following steps so we can find the cause please?

    1. Repair the game install.
    2. Perform a clean boot. (this process disables many background tasks that may be causing interference.)
    3. Unplug all USB devices (aside from the mouse and keyboard) and try the game again.
    4. Disable the Origin in-game overlay (IGO). To do this, launch the Origin client. Then go to the Origin menu, Application Settings, Origin In Game, and then uncheck "Enable Origin In Game."
    5. Make sur the game is updated
    6. Update your system. (Windows)

When I was racing in the Hot Pursuit grand tour I was in the lead up until the 13 mile mark when my car just continued on forward even though I had turned at a corner, going well off course, at which point it started driving around in circles giving me no control of the car what so ever. I then just stopped and put the controller down and the car continued driving in random directions when I'm not even touching the controller. Then it stopped completely once the police had caught me, at which point I tried driving and the car wouldn't move at all, I tried pressing every single button and not a thing worked, till I was finally busted then it went back to normal again?

Suffering same problem on Xbox One version. So much for EA Vault. Looks like I'm paying a subscription for useless EA games they cannot fix!

Still, to this day, this issue exists. And it's continued in NFS16(PC).

    wtf?

    Why?

I don't remember the last time I played Rivals before getting NFS but I do remember Rivals didn't do this the last time I played it. I loved the game, over 250 hours.

Now NFS has the same issues. I'm under 30 hours and very underwhelmed.

I'll try getting a wired keyboard and see if that helps any.

  • Look who developed both Rivals and the new NFS. Ghost Games. That's the problem right there. Developed by a low-level D class company. Who apparently know nothing about developing games.

I played with a brand new generic kb and it does the same damn thing in both games.

Back to my wireless...it's more comfortable to use.

I guess Ghost Games should be held responsible for my not pre ordering any EA title ever again. I may keep my origin access account, unless this * isn't fixed soon in both games.

  • "I'm also getting hit by multiple ESF's when no one is around." but I see a name of a driver and I believe it's ESV

He (or see) is on another side of the map (so not around) and hit me 3 times in short time, and bam I am gone.

Race after race, doesn't matter where I drive and it's always the same name I read that hit me.

(sorry for my bad English because it's not my native languages)

Even when I switch to another session, he (or see) is there again and after 3 shots I am total-loss again, back in the garage with no points.

    I don't own a Kinetic whatever. Just a wireless controller on a XBox360.

It looks like a nice game but what is happening now makes it no fun.

Do you have that overwatch thing activated? People can remotely mess you up or help you if you have it on. Been a while since I turned it off. Maybe someone nice will explain it to us. Or you can just search overwatch...if that's what it's called.
