Game freezes midrace

So for no apparent reason the game suddenly freezes up in the middle of the race. This happened in the past already but since the last update it happens several times every day. And especially often on BRR races or timed events. It isn't that bad in BRR, who cares about what your rank is after all, we're swimming in money anyway. But this bug jeopardized my last events. I'm losing 3-7 tickets per day due this annoyance and I don't have enough gold any more to keep up with the losses.

Clearing the cache, reinstalling the game, even resetting the phone doesn't solve the issue.
