So, since the news has been brought up about no free roam police chases, how many will be canceling their pre orders and (for the ones who havnt pre ordered) how many will not be getting the game now? This is a HUGE disappointment and will make the game world feel dull and dead. I have had my pre order since they even released a pre order for the game. I am thinking about cancelling mine, I don't know.

If I had to guess, the reason it's not in the game is simply because Ghost couldn't figure out (or couldn't be ASSED to figure out) why their cop AI was so bad in 2015.The cop AI in 2015 (along with the very wonky drifting mechanics) was the worst part about that game. It couldn't follow you very well and it only ever did so at a low speed (if you went over 80 or so you'd start gaining distance even if you needed them to chase you).So, if I had to take a stab at it, their only real solution to the problem was to remove the open-world aspect of police chases so they could focus the cop AI on a single route. Then they could make them as aggressive as they wanted as the AI wouldn't be stuck making decisions about how to catch up to the player character. The police did this right in other NFS games, sure, but for whatever reason they didn't make it work in 2015 and didn't want to delve into why for this game.Sugarcoat it all you want but the lack of police chases in free-roam is indicative of something more than "we wanted an action-focused experience" (or whatever it was they said).

Hey ea, I’m a big nfs fan I’ve played the old games like; carbon and underground, in another forum like a month ago I said that nfs should bring back crews which you have with the two leagues so far: riot club and graveyard shift..i was really happy about that..now I have watched a ton of videos and read a lot of comments about the topic of ‘no free roam cops’ honestly myself I like that idea because I just want to cruise around without worrying about cops but for other players they want to have the thrill of a big furious rhino chasing after them...for a future update maybe have a toggle option to turn cops on and off. Also what I think would be cool are parking lots with spiral ramps to drift up, naming and creating a logo for the trio team we the players of nfs are playing as, and also maybe some tournaments to win big prizes like a car, money, rare parts (exterior and interior)..and these tournaments would include; drift cup, drag cup, dirt cup etc.. thank you ea for taking your time to read this hopefully we the gamers see some of these features in the game in a later date

So, it has been brought to my attention in another thread that there will be no police chases in free roam and ONLY during scriptes events such as bait crates or missions. I have got to say, this is both a flaw and a major disappointment. Why have a HUGE emphasis on police chases and NOT have them in free roam? This will cause a lot of outrage and will make a lot of people not like the game. Ghost Games says they listen to the fans yet they must not me listening hard enough. We want police chases in free roam and not just scripted events. This is very very disappointing to hear EA and Ghost Games.

I just do not get how a developer can say " we gave you what you want, cops!" And then throw this out there. They make the game seem alive and then dull it out with the lack of cops in free roam. I want to be able to be chased and out run the cops on my own, not through scripted events.

So, I see my Really Really Big Screw Up post got deleted. Did EA not like it so they decided to delete it? It detailed my outrage that there will not be any free roam pursuits.
