I've been a fan since NFS 4 on the PS One. The series has definitely had its ups and downs over the years, but I really enjoyed the recent entries. I had a blast with the 2015 reboot, Heat, and Unbound. They all had their issues, sure, but I still had so much fun with them.
Unbound is probably my favorite so far. I really liked the cel-shaded style, and the way it balanced grip and drift made it super satisfying to master. The story was pretty cool too...not amazing or anything, but enjoyable for what it was. Still haven’t played Payback tho.
But the high states of PS1 and the high stakes of PC are not the same game. The graphics quality, car damage system and resolution of PC are much better.
Payback has great graphics. Although it is a game from 2017, it is still up to date. Due to the rush, there is no police wanted system, only a linear police system for specific events. There is no water on the ground, it is always dry, and the weather system of Payback only has sunny weather. If the performance upgrade system of heat is included in Payback, IGN will not give it only 5.9 points, at least it can get 6.8 points.
