I need help activating Need for Speed ProStreet

Hi.

About 10 years ago I received a NFS ProStreet CD for Christmas, and since then it became my favorite Need for Speed game to date. I have so many pleasant memories of the game, and the nostalgia trip when I see gameplay on youtube is insane.

Yesterday I decided to clean my room and I stumbled across this very same CD that I thought I lost. Of course, I immediately installed it and tried playing - but it wouldn't work. It would freeze and crash at the end of every race, so I was literally unable to play it. After inspecting the disc, it was scratched up - one of the issues of physical media. So I thought to myself, I should be able to activate the game via Origin, using the serial code used in the installation. It didn't work.

I looked up the issue, and since the game is apparently abandoned, people suggested contacting EA support, which I did. The agent was polite and asked me for the code. I sent it to him, but again, it didn't work. I looked all around the box and the game manual, but no "code" I sent worked (I must have sent him at least 5 messages where I thought I had found it). He concluded the conversation by telling me he did all he could, but nothing could be done without the code. I don't blame him, but I did get disappointed at the end.

Now, before you ask, I am 100% sure the game is legitimately purchased from a verified seller, so the code has to be somewhere in there too. My issue is, I guess I don't know where to look anymore. Can someone please tell me where the code is usually located? Pictures or any concrete leads would be more than welcome. The box is complete, and even still has the original "Official gaming guide" in it.

If not, is there any way to buy a digital copy? I looked everywhere, but I couldn't find any store that sells it. Origin doesn't sell it, and neither do any of the third party sellers (Instant Gaming, G2A, these sites). I am willing to spend money to just relive my memories of enjoying this amazing game. Please, if you can help in any way, I am more than willing to listen.

  • @Zokingster Got a digital download key from best buy, but I cannot get the game to verify ownership with origin. I sent in a support ticket, but after I sent account info and error details, all I received was an email asking if I still needed help. Like "Yes! you never even looked at my case!"
  • Yeah, I got the same mail after the unsuccessful code verification with the agent. It's such a shame that a game like this became abandonware. All of this could be avoided so easily if EA simply put the game up for sale on Origin.

  • I purchased the game through Best Buy as well, installed Origin and the Game according to the specifications and have received the same "game not verified" message.  I have spent over 10 hours the last week interacting with EA/Origin support via chat, phone, and email.  Every person I spoke with had a "different" solution and none of them have worked.  It's the most work I have ever done to lose $10 in my life.  I'm happy that it was only a cheap game and I have learned my lesson not to buy anything else from EA or through the Origin platform.

If you are reading this in an attempt to find a solution... my best advice is to chalk it up as a loss.
