Need for Speed 2015 doesn't start on Steam, Xbox App, or EA App on Windows 11

On my first try, I installed the game on Steam but whenever I click play, the EA App opens and closes but game doesn't start.

After that I uninstalled the game and tried to install it on Xbox App using my game pass subscription.

This time the game gave me an error for not having Origin installed and ultimately didn't start. I included the error as an attachment.

For my last attempt, I installed the game on EA App using my EA Play subscription but I encountered the same error when I click the shortcut on my desktop. If I try to play the game via EA App, the launcher keeps telling me that the game is corrupted and I need to repair the game. I repaired the game multiple times but unfortunately, it did not solve my issue.

Please note that this problem only occurs when I want to play Need for Speed 2015, and Need for Speed Payback. All the other Need for Speed games are running fine.

I have tried the followings:

- On Steam, I tried to verify the game files but it did not solve the issue.

- On EA App I tried app recovery and clear cache but that did not solve my issue either.

- I run the game, and EA App on administrator rights but did not work.

- I tried to run the game on compatibility mode but did not work.

- I tried to uninstall and reinstall the game multiple times but did not work.

- My drivers are up to date.

I believe the game wants to open using Origin but as you already know Origin is discontinued.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Currently, only the Steam version of the game installed. Sharing the DxDiag now.

Hi @HasiqTR34 To confirm have you defaulted through Nvidia control panel to launch with the 2070 and not the intel graphics?

If so is it possible to share the dxdiag file, and not screenshots as the link I previously posted calls out?

  • My apologies. Yes I confirm I have defaulted through Nvidia Control Panel to launch with the 2070. You can access the Dxdiag now.

  • I am having the same issue with Need for Speed Payback. I have tried all the possible fixes yet it won't launch.

    Please help.

  • FIXED UP. I simply installed Origin (old installer, for PC) and, even though I didn't open the game through it, EaApp started opening the game normally. It's bizarre, but it worked for me. So I uninstalled Origin to test and it continued to work. I hope this works for you too.

  • @franco5950 I have the same issues, repaired, replaced install- uninstall-reinstall, VC++ repaired- reinstalled... upgraded all pc hardware, clean install of windows and games.... No Origin installer.... rebought the games through steam... still no fix no help.... game work up until July then this issue game starts till you get to the screen that says press enter/space bar... as soon as you touch any key or button on the steering wheel game terminates with no error post, no warning... nothing....
