There are three collections. Since none of these games have online servers running anymore, a used version is not an issue.
Need For Speed Classic collection - 5 games - NFSII, NFSIII - Hot Pursuit, NFS High Stakes, NFS Porsche Unleashed, NFS Hot Pursuit 2
World of Need For Speed - 4 games - NFS High Stakes, NFS Porsche Unleashed, NFS Hot Pursuit 2, NFS Underground
Need For Speed Collector's Series - 3 games - NFS Underground, NFS Underground 2, NFS Most Wanted (2005) - box art shows it as "DVD"
All of these games (except maybe Most Wanted) have either a TCP/IP or LAN mode, and by using TCP/IP, or a LAN mode with a VPN, multiple players can play over the internet. In the past, I've used TCP/IP mode for High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed, and LAN mode with VPN for Underground 2. There are probably very few players doing this these days, but if you have friends that want to play, you can still set this up.

I have a few classics my self ether updated or original. Like the Street Fighter Collection is a good example. Online depends. To me it was a bit of ether original or remastered. Me maybe i have most need for speed games. originals on a disk would be like Street Fighter.
