Need for Speed Most Wanted only running at 720p PS3

Need for Speed Most Wanted only running at 720p PS3, strangely enough when you start the game it shows 1080p but then when the video intro appears it switches to 720p and stays on that.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Most PS3 games run at 720p natively, don't worry about it, if it's a TV you're playing on, you won't notice a difference when you're sitting at least a metre away. *Very few games on either PS3 or XBOX run at 1080p, the consoles aren't powerful enough to render 1080p in real time (on top of Anti-Aliasing).
