I heard that this problem is revolving around a connectivity problem.
The same problem is encountered on consoles, and the fix that works on there is to disconnect the console from internet.
So, maybe, if you'd disconnect your PC from internet in before you boot up NFS:Payback, it will fix the issue.
Now, I don't know if this will really fix it, but we should at least try, so we can spread the word, so that players can at least enjoy the game in offline mode.
And then hope for the best: that EA fixes this awful bug.
that could be the issue as i played it more then 4hours straight in offline mode. when i got online my pc froze again. Don't really know if the disconnecting will help then as my pc is working on WiFi and there is no switch to put off the WiFi. I need to do this with a keyboard combination. but when my pc freezes nothing does anything anymore except a hard shutdown as most of the People here i think.
