Hi EA, I recently got Need for Speed Payback and have been having issues on and off. Playing the Campaign was fine but there were stuttering issues which meant I had to constantly restart the game when the stuttering to too intense and unbearable. Multiplayer however is WAY worse. I struggle to keep up with the (stupid goddamn Regera) because my game is almost constantly stuttering. My PC isn't all that great but, I'm running everything on LOW and have even got a couple of options turned off completely. I have a 3.2Ghz i5 Quad Core / GTX 970 / 8GB of RAM. And Normally the only thing running is Spotify and Need for Speed. Can you help? P.S. I really enjoy the game and loved the story.

The game in overall has major performance issues in all platforms, not only PC and the best solution is to wait for Ghost's patch to resolve these issues.I get stutters too, but mostly in the city and I managed to get the game to a pretty manageable state by reducing Ambient Occlusion to SSAO and vegetation to Medium. The rest is High and the game is mostly all good (considering its bad for most people).What I have noticed that this game burns my CPU more than other games for last few years. My watercooling solution is always at maximum power when playing NFS Payback.

this will be my last nfs game.enough waste of money. after the failure of nfs 2015 and now this, in addition of the stutters that makes the game disgusting.i7 6900k1080ti32 gbI give up from NFS game, NFS is dead.

Hey guys... After the big patch in December the stuttering was gone for me but after the new big update last month the stuttering got back and even worse... I have had contact a couple of times with EA and they can't seem to find a solution for this but.... I found one after long searching and trying a lot of different things...Most of the people i see online are on a machine using multiple cores... I have a pretty mean machine myself and i think the problem is limited to these kind of machines:Core i7 7700KAsus Maximus Formula IX32 GB 2666 HyperX memoryAsus GTX 1080 Ti OC 11 GB960 Pro NVME 5124K screenI GOT IT TO WORK NOW!!If you have a machine with more then 4 cores you will get the stuttering in some configurations and you can fix it:1. I downloaded a simple program called 'Process Lasso'2. Installed it and started Need For Speed Payback.3. Lookup NeedforSpeedpayback.exe in the processes4. Rightclick the process and click the second line: CPU affinity5. Now select Always...6. Click CPU affinity7. deselct a couple of cores but leave 5 cores checked...8. Go back to the game9. Enjoy stutter-free (but occasionally mini freezes as a little downside)Why this program you ask? Because this sets this affinity with the cores every time you start the game instead of doing it manually via Task Manager in W10.It's not a real solution of course but now it's playable without getting tears in your eyes and a headace after playing for about 10 minutes...I hope this also works for you all...If you first want to test it you can of course set the affinity in the task manager first to check if it solves the problem for you. With 2 cores it's unplayable, 3 cores is still quite bad, 4 cores it's finally playable but 5 cores is the limit of the game (so it seems).If any of the EA crew are reading with me... Please fix this issue... None of my other games have this problemwhile playing every game @ 4K ultra.Good luck to you all! Greets,Mark

do you knwo when the patch is?im having nonstop stuttring as wel. if i put everything on highest or lowest setting it makes no difference.for some reason i could play the game quite decent for about 5 hours and now its unplayable. I even tried reinstalling it but that didnt work either

i got a 1080 anf an i7 7700k 8 gig of ram and online is not playable

@Markvvelsen DO YOU BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A CONFILCT WITH ASSASSINS CREED ORIGINS IN MY SISTEM BECAUSE IS a CRACK VERISON ??? .. and i konw they use the same protection .. i was thinking about this

No that's not the problem... I know because i've had Assassins Creed Origins (cracked) installed while having Need for Speed Payback normally working.
I wanted to try ACO before buying and was convinced after a couple of hours playing so deleted the cracked version and bought the game.

@Markvvelsen Ok guys i think now i really resolved the stuttering iusses aswell! one night TO playnig and today aswell no stuttering anymore, (or they put some ghost patch ) or i resolved THE PROBLEM by myself .. !!!!!
to eliminate the problem i done the following things :
1 DONT USE DRAGON CENTER O SIMILAR SHIFT MODE PROGRAM .
2 DEACTIVATE ANTIVIRUS ON OFF
3. PUT ON NVIDIA CONTROLL PANNEL THE ENERGY MODE ON MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE
4 KEEP ON THE PROGRAM EARLIER INDICATED "PROCESS LASSO" (IN MY CASE WITH ALL 8 CORE ACTIVE)
ENJOY THE GAME WITHOUT STUTTERING !!!
IM PLAYING ON HIGH WITHOUT PROBLEMS ANYMORE. WITH GTX 1050TI SINGLEPLAYER AND MULTIPLAYER

Actually... Since the last update I do not encounter any more problems...

It looks like it's optimized much better now. CPU is not at 90 % all the time but now even falls back to 40 %. On 4K it still uses about 90 - 99% GPU but that's ok for me.

It's much more stable now and no more stutterings or strange FPS drops and hangs...

Glad I use Access, because if I had paid for this pile of poop I would have been very disappointed (like I have been with the last 2 NFS games). CanGhost not use an engine designed for racing games? Even compared to NFS Shift 2, this looks c**p. Plays like c**p, and what is with the nausea inducing 20FPS ingame cut scenes? Even on a Ryzen 2700x, GTX1080 and 32GB of RAM this game plays like balls.
