Since then, I have been able to play absolutely no problem, it's just getting past the hurdle of making that initial connection.
Hope this helps!
I've been playing since November 2019 using the above method, and not had any issues, but seemingly my post must have been missed.
It is ridiculous that EA won't fix the issues with one of their tent-pole franchises though.

I hate to tell you but this is not a fix or a solution, the game will eventually crash/freeze even in private games this has happen to me and others, it might work great for a few times but then it will eventually crash/freeze. Like I said in post #298, the only way to play 100% crash/freeze free is to play offline.

I'll let you know if/when that ever happens, but it hasn't yet.

***SOLUTION:
In order to load/play 100% crash/freeze free you must play offline, you can do this by disconnect your Xbox from the internet BEFORE starting the game. You can disconnect your Xbox from the internet a number of ways but the easiest is to go to your Xbox settings under the Xbox home screen, then under network disconnect internet. Unfortunately, this is currently the only way to start/load/play the game 100% crash/freeze free. NOTE: playing this way doesn't allow you to play with your friends/or strangers, but if you really want to play online with friends/stranger you can do so by starting the game offline, the once in your garage, reconnect your internet BUT just know that once you reconnect to the internet your game might still crash/freeze. Happy gaming! 🙂

This is useless for anyone that is game sharing with a friend or partner though, as being offline affectively disables your gaming collection.

@BBIAJ Be that as it may, this thread is not about multiplayer issues with the game, my solution is on topic for this thread.

My point still stands, anyone that game shares, regardless of if they want to play Rivals in single or multiplayer, can not do so if the solution is to go offline, as they then can't play the game at all.

I don't know how that would work on with game sharing. But how to play rivals without crashing is disconnect from your internet so it can force it to play as single player and then you can turn the internet back on. Then go to the all drive settings and set the game session to private so that you can still play solo, and invite like 5 of your friends with you. Me and @xboxbabe70 and couple others that have reply to this old post have done this method to have fun.

@BBIAJ I understand your frustration but your issue is a completely different problem then the topic for this thread. There for, I would suggest that you start a new thread stating that you can't play the game at all when game sharing, and/or contact EA support. Sorry I couldn't be more help! 🙂

Ok. I haven't played this game in a long time. Today i did a test. I have the new series s so I installed the game on the internal drive. After the install the game loads and goes all the way in. Doesn't crash back to dashboard. I did this 4 times. Everytime same result. Game loaded fine. Now you know the new xbox loads games quick. I am guessing it loads because it is not getting stuck looming for a game. It just finds one.
