Alright well this might help, the game has this issue on my new one S console but seems to work just fine on my original one console. Not sure how that helps buts its new info.... I network transferred a copy of the game to my original one and it booted into lobby first try. I'm trying to run the game off an external drive on my one S and I do not use an external on my original one. May try putting the game on my internal one S drive but I already requested a refund.

Transferred the game to my internal drive on my one S (which is having this issue), it still crashed. I noticed the original one synced when it loaded and worked so I deleted the saved game on the ONE s that transferred with the game from the external. This time it synced and loaded first try so try to delete the saved game data off your hard drive and boot it.

Deleting saved games never did anything for me. It it's working for some consoles it could very well be a coding problem within the game, since the game tries to sync to the Origin server which is also for pc versions of the games, idk just a thought!

Do you have it installed on an internal or external drive by chance? Perhaps try to transfer it to the opposite drive, delete the save and boot it for a kind of trial and error I suppose. I played it for awhile earlier but haven't gone back to it too see if it works a second time. I've checked my network settings on both consoles and NAT is open and my router reports no blocked connections. I network transferred the game to my original one opposed to redownloading as well . I also considered the fact that I did play this game on the xbox 360 console and likely have save data in my cloud from it causing issues but its just a thought.

Well Microsoft denied my refund! I even linked this thread in the request as at the time the game was entirely unplayable! Good thing its fixed, hasn't crashed once in countless boots since I moved it to internal and deleted the save. Works on both my consoles when installed internally and just for kicks I copied to my external and tried booting it on both consoles. On the external drive the game crashes every time (both the original one and one S)... Sure hope it solves it for everyone else!
Too recap...
1. transfer the game to the internal drive
2. Delete any saved games on the internal drive
3. Profit!
- How long ago did you purchase the game and what reason did they give you for denying the refund?

I purchased the game Thursday December 6th and requested the refund the next day (Friday the 7th) . Today I received this :
Hi Shawn,
Thanks for contacting Xbox Support about your refund request.
We reviewed your request for order ************* on December 6th, 2018and found it’s not eligible for a refund based on Microsoft Terms of sale.

I requested the refund based on it not performing as advertised, explained I cannot play the game due to the crash and linked this this thread. Not exactly thrilled about the response! Its still not as it should be since I have to use the internal drive which loads much slower than my external!
- Personally I've never had any issues with refund, except for once which wasn't really an issue, basically I was told when I called customer support that I had to fill out an online refund form, and I told the customer support rep that I never had to do that before, and that usually the person I was talking to would just reverse the charges, and within a couple of hours I would have the money back into my paypal account, but the last rep said nope i had to fill an online form, after looking at the form I didn't bother and just counted the game as a lost. If i were you I would try again but this time call them, you will have to go thru the microsoft website it can be tricky but I'll guide you. Go to: https://support.xbox.com/en-gb/contact-us#6:1:2 , STEP 1) choose a catagory (pick account), STEP 2)pick a topic under more topics pick error and codes( i know this isn't your issue but trust me it's the only way to get thru to them), STEP 3) SKIP, STEP 4) contact us, and pick Request a call from support, then enter all your info and they will call you back so stay by the phone, tell them what is going on, I would even bring up not purchasing anything anymore from them if it isn't fixed, say you want the charges reversed. All else fails you can always dispute this with your bank and/or paypal. I would also give the reason for the refund as being that the product is defective/not working instead of saying not performing as advertised.

Thanks but I'll just let them keep the $5 as opposed to the hassle. I did have to fill out the refund form this time and never had to do that before.
