I am having a problem with getting NFS carbon to open. I keep getting an error that says please open with administrator account and try again. I have tried creating a new admin account and install it there, that did not work. This has been happening for many months. I also half to have the disk in the dvd drive, even if it is, the game still does not open. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I found out why it does not work, Update KB3086255 causes the game to think that it's not reading the dvd correctly. Get rid of this update.

Can you let us know if the following steps to use an Admin account helps please.

Windows 7/Windows 8 Administrator Settings

Go to the Control Panel:

Windows 7: Open up your desktop Start menu then click on the 'Control Panel' option to open it.

Windows 8: Hit Windows key + X and then click on the ‘Control Panel’ to open it.

Click 'User Accounts' (you may need to click on the 'User Accounts and Family Safety' option first).

Click on 'Manage User Accounts'.

If you are set as the administrator of the PC you will see 'Administrator' by your username. If you are not the administrator, please try the following:

Edit your user account and set yourself up as the Administrator for it.

I am the administrator of my computer, I am the only account. Screenshots will come soon. I am running windows 7.

Did you like right click the game and select run as administrator and set the right compatibility modes beforehand.

You may as well get windows 10 then if you've got windows 7 you can get it for free and that might solve the issue.

Sorry, I don't like/trust windows 10 and I will never upgrade. Thanks for your help, I guess I will figure it out on my own. Maybe it's something to do with the dvd or the product key.

I'm having the same problem. even if i right click on Need for speed Carbon icon and click run as administer my cursor turns to a spinning wheel and then NOTHING!!!! all i see is my desktop so the game obviously did not open!! PLEASE HELP!!!
