NFS HEAT - Car List: BMW M3 GTR
Hey Everyone, I hope you’re all well. First and foremost I’d just like to say that I’m a long time need for speed fan but wanted to join these forums to see if an EA developer or someone from EA co...

@anti-loser1So In heat, seeing as though in the car list it’s a ‘bmw m3 e46 gtr’ And is listed as a coupe as opposed to a performance car. Is it the actual m3 gtr or the e46 m3 with a gtr bodykit?
Care to comment ea? 🙂
We will have to see. I did hear somewhere that they are recreating iconic cars and the M3GTR is one of them. I do not know how close to the original it will be or if it will indeed be the GTR.
I would say that it is not the GTR, i hope i am wrong because i would love to have the real GTR back

@anti-loser1Where did you hear this?
EA Please gibe is the real and authentic BMW M3 GTR. We deserve it for your 25th anniversary

Go to the time stamp 15:40, he talks about legacy kits

@Tomss4If they are talking about "legacy kits" that just sounds to me like another modified M3 E46 rip off with a GTR body kit, again! I would much rather have the genuine GTR V8 engine with straight cut gears, the way it was said that you may be able to recreate the "transmission whine" by using exhaust tuning probably means we'll sadly just be getting standard M3 imposters with tuned exhaust that won't even be close.
That's what it sounds like unfortunately. i really hope i am wrong and it is actually the GTR. the car list does state that it is the M3 E46 GTR,

@anti-loser1So what do you think? Actual GTR or E46 with a legacy kit? The car list is abit tough to understand because it says E46 GTR And is listed as a ‘coupe’? EA can you provide an answer?
Since we haven't got a clear answer yet it seems like it would be the e46
@Tomss4 wrote:
@anti-loser1But that doesn’t make much sense because there’s also a normal M3 E46 in the car list. Ben or Barry, care to comment and put our mind to rest?
The normal M3 in the car list does not say E46 it just says
Ok, it does seem like the M3 2006 is an E46 since i googled it and the 2000-2006 models are E46.
It does seem to imply that it is the GTR from the way they described it as razor's from NFSMW. (really its the players, razor stole it)
So what i am thinking is they mean a 2000-2006 GTR which would be the right car. I would really like someone from EA to confirm if it is the exact car
So today they released the normal E46 on the app. I wonder if that means there is an actual ‘race’ gtr ? Hopefully and fingers crossed there’s the straight cut gears and whine
Following the recent Under The Hood post concerning customization, I'm worried that we will not be getting our GTR.
"Why not install a 4.0 liter V8 into a BMW M3 E46? You can do that too!"
Sure you can, and you can tune the exhaust as well. But it won't be an M3 GTR and the way the exhaust is set up doesn't seem to allow you to achieve this either. This is a concern, to say the least.
@Jacobba55 Someone from EA needs to answer this so we don’t need to keep questioning each other. All they need to do is give a simple yes or no. Disappointing they can’t provide a simple update on whether the actual GTR is in the game with the engine sound or it’s just the body kit @BenWalke @EA_Barry
Exactly! You got it. Let's say some players really love the M3 GTR, like ourselves, and decide that they won't buy the game unless the M3 GTR is one of the cars you can drive. Naturally, this is a problem for GHOST and EA...
However, they can use underhanded tactics that technically don't breach any rules and regulations, but screw over the consumer nonetheless to prevent this. For example, they could make the GTR a DLC (locking it behind a pay wall), or officially listing it (but it's actually just a body kit).
Alternatively, what they are doing at the moment is giving open-ended answers that can be interpreted in multiple ways. The response @EA_Barry gave allows them to say that you can "make" the M3 GTR through customization, but we're not sure if we genuinely can because of the exhaust system's questionable nature. A very clever equivocation, that's for certain! I would say no, until proven otherwise. So if you desperately want that GTR, you might want to hold off just to wait and see. Okay?
reading through comments finding out about the new exhaust sound system seems awesome !
that always was a issue, no matter the exhaust cars always sounded like the stock kit.
Welcome to the forums and yes I fully agree with your comments about the Exhaust sounds.
For so many past NFS games the cars sounded so generic and I know we as a community really disliked this.
I'm happy someone woke up and actually read our comments over the last two years while making NFS Heat game.
I hope Ghost Studios keep reading our comments now on the new NFS Heat Game to make adjustments for whatever next Game they create.
Have a great day & I gave you some XP too. 😃
@Michael_RushFrom the video's I have seen of heat, engine swaps and exhaust tuning is a thing. This also changes the sound of the car (engine) and the exhaust. So if you want the authentic BMW M3 GTR don't engine swap.
I hope keeping the same engine still allows for the car to get to a high level and not force you to engine swap to make the car as fast as it can be. Obviously putting a damn V12 in (if possible) should be quicker but I hope not to the point that the stock engine is pointless. Engine swaps might not be a thing on the icon cars. Only time will tell.
I think the new system for Exhaust change in Heat will be much better than most of the games from the past.
Have a great day.
Great post..gave you some XP.
