NFS Heat Level 3+
Can we please talk about how ridiculous the cops become overpowered after heat level 2? EA has made this awesome atmospheric night time mode where the cops are truly out to get you, but they're so ov...
To be honest in the late game when you have damage reduction and map knowledge cops are actually way to easy.
If any nerfs come I hope the nerf hi elevated camping instant evade spots too
If they do, do balancing hard needs to be left hard. me personally even without exploits can escape a 5 start easy without ramps or jumps to hide. Hiding with engine off is OP if used right
•Fix the time to bust and low speed to bust (should be like 20MPH not 50 to 60)
•Fix the damage numbers for car combat cos losing 20 to 30% health for ramming the side of a dodge is stupid
•Fix the rubberbanding on all cops apart from the super pursuit units "corvettes" but make the corvettes a weaker in the health and damage they do to you as a result. Corvettes arm should be to slow you down not tanky ram ram car combat, thats the dodges job.
(i really wanna see hi speeds being the corvettes job trying to pit you and break check rather than shunting you like a dodge, but soon as you slow thats when the dodges put in work with the ramming and the slamming. You know? Give each unit a role, a job in the chase.
Right now every Cop type plays and feels the same with small health and hit damage difference. Would love to see more strategy from the cops)
•Remove the jumping exploits so you can just jump up hi and win
•Fix helicopters as wheh hiding up hi even they lose you (let choppers bust us for trying to exploit save zones no ?)
•Also let the chopper spawn at heat 4 too just half the length of heat 5 choppers
If these things were added. You would spend less time getting rammed till at slow speeds and cops over all would be less annoying as each cop type would have a different strategy meaning the player can actually adapt and counter play.
Right now the strategy is rubber band into you ramming you into 200MPH because they are actually ONLY trying to get in front of you to use the 1 Diamond box formation 99% of the time at any speed.
You will notice if 1 cop is in front of you getting shunted never happens much as no cop is trying to rubberband in front. The whole chase system is built around that 1 diamond box formation and they will do ANYTHING to get it set up. It's why rubber banding feels so bad and cops hyper ram ram mode when nothing is ahead of you
•Give different cop car types different pursuit roles/jobs
•Different strategies for different speeds
•More formations instead of the 1 Diamond 4 car box
•Over all more AI strategies to slow you like only corvettes and choppers having the kill switch so they can slow you for the brute force slower units.
Just more things to keep the cops out of that 1 strategy. Rubberband to box.
This would need a Rework of course but pull this stuff off and chases would not need any numbers changes
Cops 2.0
More work but the end result would be more than worth it
I completely agree with you a million percent mate.
I truly liked the implementation of police force system in the game, it's a big step up from the Ghost's previous installments and in theory it's how it must be (considering you used to be begging the cops to chase you in NFS 2015) but in practice it has so many flaws.
Yes, I agree Corvettes should be hard to deal with as they are cops' last line of defence and ultimate weapon, yet let alone their speed thing should be fixed.
(It's really discouraging they rubberband you out of nothing, it's simply a Crown Vic but it gets you as if it's friggin Chiron & I'm doing almost 200 mph).
Each cop group has particular roles.Totally great idea which must have been at first place.Crown Vics doing simple things, where Chargers trying to tougher rams and emp you and lastly Corvettes, the ultimate bounty hunters, they take you down & ask questions later.
Apart from you suggestions what can be done, I might think some other things as well.Such as off road build vehicles might be more resistant to damage.
And the nitro system could be reworked.Opposing to single shot nitrous tubes, in the night environment the legacy nitrous system may be adopted.
All in all what EA/Ghost did remarkable in terms of pursuit system but it's not even enjoyable and put many ppl less motivated to do high heat level changes. But dear EA, make half of this guy's suggestions and you have a golden enjoyable experience by giving players a breathing room yet keeping cops challenging and fun to deal with.
"•Fix the damage numbers for car combat cos losing 20 to 30% health for ramming the side of a dodge is stupid"
-LOL, Dodge vehicles don't need to get rammed to stop working.
