I agree, the police after level 2 are waaaay to hard to risk, especially if you are just starting off, how are we supposed to rank up if we can only do 2-3 races a night max? Sure once you get up in the levels and got the better cars its no problem, but as someone who is still in the lower levels, night time is just no that enjoyable.
I leave night as soon as I hit heat lvl 2 because otherwise it is no fun to just lose credits and heat....I know the purpose of the police, but seriously, they are just too overpowered as pointed out previously....

I am personally hoping that they expand the difficulty settings to have custom difficulties so we can choose how hard or how easy the police are or how easy or hard the racers are and so on......set them to easy, then they are easy, set then to hard, then they will be hard, i play for the story, nothing else, once i finish the story, i move on to another game, i don't play online with other players, i play exclusively solo.
Depending on the game, I will play online, although most racing games online suck, ,because people are a**hats and get their kicks by running you into walls....
Thank you! Exactly my point! I like my blue and silver Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X but when I race with it at night, it gets hit like 3 times and its in critical condition. I dont want to be forced to use a specific car every time. Dont be like Payback. Forcing us to use "this" car for "that" type of race or event or chase or whatever.
- @stefmiester91 3 words. Damage Reduction Perk. Or, Repair Kit Perk. Stop trying to get into chases, avoid them. You don't get rep from getting into them. Just keep heading into races, you'll get the cops there too, but by the time the race is over, so will the pursuit be. Keep racing, building your rep and heat up, then dodge the cops all the way home and bank it.

Believe me, once you level up the police is still a pain in the a*s.
All I did (both in the beginning and later once had a maxed out car) was simply used this sort of a vkitch:
Wether it was level 1 or 5, once I found I couldn't beat cops, I used this ramp to get up. Once they are behind you, you wait until you lose them and shoot for the garage or next race.
BTW, I used this ramp only to escape cops, not rank up. Rank up through races.
