NFS Heat not launching

after i had the problem too for some weeks now i found on reddit its solved by unpugging usb devices like steering wheels / flightsticks

i had my flighstick connected since i have my pc and nfs heat was working without problems

then it started to only eat cpu with an black window not starting into the game

after i now unplugged the flightstick its working again

strange

What fixed it for me was disabling punk buster from my previous gaming session of battlefield.

This guy figured it out. I've been searching for DAYS trying to figure out why NFS Heat gets an infinite black screen without doing anything. I have tried:

Disabling VIPRE (Anti-mal)

Disabling Xbox overlay 

Disabling Steam Overlay

Disabling Xbox Gaming services 

Updating GPU firm 

Updating windows

Updating my firewall whitelist 

Reinstalling the game

Verifying the files

I tried most things if not everything...

But finally... Finally...

I use a fight-stick. I had the USB neutrik cable plugged into the back of my IO. I reached back, unplugged my neutrik, unplugged the controller I was using... and viola...

NFS speed Heat running again.

What a nasty bug, apparently it tries to verify the USB devices during startup and it fails.. wonder why?

If anyone else is experiencing this issue, try unplugging everything that isn't necessary for the game to run, then plug your controller in later.

Hopefully the issue will be resolved.

 To fix our issue, all we have to do is open Origin's Cache location and delete everything except the "LocalContent" folder.
Also I believe after bunch of tests, that if you delete the local.xml file and then relaunch HEAT, it will work.

Default Location:

C:\ProgramData\Origin

To find it you can use:

%ProgramData%/Origin

LEAVE "LocalContent" folder alone, it has your Local Save files.

I had this issue as well. Trying most of the things listed in this topic didn't work. In the end I found out that it was caused by the fact that I had Family View enabled in Steam. Even though the game is allowed in Family View, the game fails to load unless I exit Family View. Hope it helps anyone else facing this issue.

Tried this. It still doesn't work. I launch the game, it goes to a black screen. I hear the music but my computer is frozen. I have to shut it down with the power button on the tower.

Hie. I had the same problem too then I ran the game as an administrator and then ran the trouble shooter and now the game is playing on well. Try that maybe it can help.
