NFS Payback wont save settings or progress

Every time I launch NFS Payback, it starts at the beginning, even my graphics settings have reset to the defaults.

After some digging, I found the issue.

My documents folder is redirected to a mapped drive, this drive maps to a DFS share in my network

It seems that NFS Payback is having trouble writing to this location - see attachment. (I have never had this issue with any other games or applications!)

So, can this be fixed, or, is there a launch parameter I could use to change the location it tries to save the config/save files?

    @CraigorNZ

    If you are not the owner/admin. of your network then you will likely not be able to change the location of your Documents folder.

    Otherwise, moving the folder to a local drive should help here.

    Let us know how you get on, thanks.

  • Thanks, but moving my documents folder to a local drive kind of defeats the purpose of having fully backed up network storage.

    What's even more interesting is that the game is able to create some of the folders it needs, but not others, so there must be a bug with the way it tries to access these files somewhere.

    I guess I'll just have to run the game as a local user, kind of annoying.
