Having the exact same issue here. I have had to activate it multiple times on the same machine through Steam due to OS upgrades and OS reinstalls, I have only ever activated it on 2 different machines, my old laptop when I first bought the game and this desktop I am using now. I am thinking about checking up on my consumer rights in the UK when it comes to digital content because this seems very dodgy, and if this does not get fixed by EA then I will have two options to choose from: 1. take legal action where applicable. Or 2. crack. EA can make the first decision of where this situation is heading.

Did you know you can de-authorize games? You can find how to do it in the following help center article: How do I deauthorize Need for Speed SHIFT?

How i am supposed to know that u have to deauthorize a computer to use on another one? i ve got to format my pc sometimes and never did that deauthorization thing! Haha So i cant play a game that i BOUGHT? GREEEAT!
