[NFSU2] Car automatically accelerates

Heyo guys,

I´m having quite a problem here.

After about 10 years I installed NFSU2 again (loved that game back then) and wanted to play this beautiful game.

Unfortunately the game experience is limited due to this bug (or whatever it is).

My car just accelerates automatically (if it´s on automatic transmission it also of course shifts up automatically, but doesnt on manual transmission, still accelerates until the limit of the current gear is reached) without pressing anything. Not W, not Arrow up, nothing. I also can´t go backwards, since my car just wants to accelerate forwards. In manual transmission i can reach the N-Gear, but my car still wants to accelerate, which you can hear (and see on the mph-display).

I tried:

- Restarting PC

- Reinstalling the game (on hdd and ssd)

- Removing other hardware (Mouse, Headset, Webcam)

    Do you have an analog controller (or possibly game pad) connected to your PC? If for some reason NFSU2 is defaulting to separate axis for throttle and brake, then with the controls centered, the throttle and brake would both be at 1/2 of full throw, and perhaps this results in the cars accelerating.

    Try going into options ... controller and seeing what the settings are and reassign and/or adjust them as needed.
