rubber banding still exists and it always has existed in racing games including Forza.
- XGCSith9 years agoSeasoned AceIn 2015 it was unbearable. In Forza its a challenge and you are still able to win. Plus, Forza has different levels of AI. With 2015 you'd be a mile ahead in a 1100 HP Lamborghini and you'd get passed up by a 500 HP Civic that was 1 mile behind you. I don't want that kind of rubber banded AI.
Lol not to the extent of NFS 2015. IN that game it was more like a slingshot. I once rammed an oppenent into a wall, got them stuck into the corner to a complete standtill for a solid few seconds (seen it on the minimap) then in a few seconds they caught up crazy quick. That level of catch up (the NFS term from the older games) is too much and ruins the game. Also, it does not exist in forza motorsport do not lie. Ive played those games for hundreds of hours, if "rubber banding" was present, I would not be able to lap all the AI multiple times in a race.

You are mostly right, but the 90s NFS game i never experienced that the A1 racers could catch me up just like that. I mean if you drove the best car in the game you would win easliy 99 percent of the time, unless you crashed or you had a much slower car. But i agree it is kinda frustrating that the A1 can catch you up in a few seconds, expecially if they had a huge crash. But that has been a problem since 2010 after Criterion started making NFS, yes Black BOx also had a few games where rubberbanding was a problem. Except from Hot Pursuit 2, so lets hope Ghost Games does not make that mistake again.
- Anonymous9 years agoFrom what I've seen in the race videos from gamescon it doesn't look like there will be outlandish rubber banding. Let's hope that carries over into the full game!
@XGCSith The Rubberband issue is fixed and is confirmed on the Payback game website.
