Painting Mirrors,Rear Spoilers,and Brake Calipers

Hello Everyone,

So far I have done some type of graphics on the cars that I own. One thing that bugs me is not being able to paint the side mirrors and the rear spoiler. I own the 1971 Nissan GT-R and I have done pretty simple graphics accenting the body lines on the side of the car. I've painted it white and painted the body lines black. I also painted the cowl and hood black. But the one thing that I need to do is paint the rear spoiler as it really needs to be black to balance the color scheme. It bugs me and I'm sure many others that we can't paint the side mirrors and the rear spoilers. A little more freedom with the rear spoilers is if we could also paint the vertical mounts separate from the wing itself. It would be great if we could paint them in the next update.

Something else that has been mentioned before is the ability to paint the brake calipers on the cars. I heard in the beta version of NFS we had that ability but for some reason it didn't make it into the official release. It would be awesome if we could paint our brake calipers and have all the options we have for the car body. If we could also paint the lettering on the calipers that would also be a nice added touch to our rides.

I must say before I end this, that I am happy with the improvements made in the graphics editor. It's made things a lot easier compared to what we had. The only improvement I think needs to be done is with the sliders and the numbering. I hate that it jumps numbers instead of one number at a time. If they went from 1,2,3,4,5 etc instead of 1,3,5,7,9 etc that would be another small improvement. But keep up the excellent work,it's really nice to know you fella's at EA are listening to us community members.

Update: When I created this thread I forgot about something that I wanted to bring to attention along with the stuff above. Not only would I like to be able to paint the things above,I also would like it if we could paint the rear window louvers on cars that have them such as the '69 Mustang Boss 302. I don't know what other cars have them,if any,but I would like to paint the rear window louvers on my Boss 302. If other cars have them it would be nice to paint them as well so it's not just the Boss 302.

I also would really like the ability to paint spoilers and mirrors.

It is possible to cover the mirror if you apply a decal to the side of the car, position it just below the mirror and then move upwards until you see it overlap the mirror. I generally use a circle and start off small, then increase the size as necessary. It can be fiddly though, depending on the shape of the mirror.

However I see no way at all of applying a decal to a spoiler. The only thing I can think of is to paint the car in the colour you want for the spolier, then cover the car in decals of the other colour you require. This would be pretty messy though and results may vary for different cars.

The thing I don't get is that there are plenty of pre-set wraps that feature painted spoilers, mirrors and other details so it must be possible.
  • @Mr_Raikkonen On some cars, like the Golf 7 GTI, you can apply decals on certain spoiler, like the Pandem/Rocket Bunny Ducktail.
