Same exact system, swapped HD 6950 for 7950 and game runs great. It's AMD, the driver required for NFS16 is 16.3.1, and the 6900 and previous cards only go up to 16.2.

Same problem here, I've been waiting for this game since the trailer for the console version came out... had to wait for the PC release and now that I've bought it straight away I have to deal with this. Very frustrated with EA.
I'm running HD 6950 Crossfire on an i5 6600k Z170 system and 8gb DDR4 which is more than enough to run the game.
Safe to say I won't be buying another game by EA if this doesn't get resolved, I'm very disappointed to have wasted my money on this.
So, I'm buying an HD 7950 3GB this week. I'll swap it out and update if it works.
