Exactly. Like NFS Carbon, a useful feature was the ability to tune the engine upgrade, to get more torque (lower-to-mid rev range torqueyness) or more horsepower (which will help top speed wise and give the engine a higher rev limiter, which was nice considering i was able to shift at 11k rpm with my RX-8 😃)
The Turbocharger upgrades had the option to give more power down low or on the upper rev range.
The Suspension allowed us to tune the car for more oversteer or more understeer.
And along those lines.
Something similar to this would "uncomplicate" things and make them more interesting to use.

In NFS 2015 you could have stock brakes, tires and suspension in the tuning menu and you could still add aftermarket tires, brake discs and rotors, and you could adjust the stance in the visual customization menu.
Looks like they did away with that, so you'll actually be spending less money to upgrade. I don't know how the tuning will play in though, maybe the tire you select in the visual with dictate how much grip/slide you can adjust in the tuning menu?
