There were still cars that were op for cash in World
- MR2
Toyota MR2 was never made In-Game Cash until the game was actually shutting down.
So this car was a pay2win car for Tier 1 and for Class D, C, and B upon Car Classes update.

- M1 Procar
At its time of release in 2012, the BMW M1 Procar was one of the top Tier 3 pay2win cars. Slower than Porsche 911 GT3 RS, but faster than Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and BMW M3 GTR (E46).
Then once Car Classes came and the three ultimate Class S cars I mentioned above were released, the BMW M1 Procar was powercrept and became irrelevant.
As it was irrelevant, the car became In-Game Cash in 2014. But it's not fast enough to compete against the three ultimate Class S cars (Keep in mind I'm talking about same skill level players with different cars)

The biggest issue with World, tho, was the biggest issue with most online racing games, cheaters using third-party programs to gain a unfair advantage. Ruined the game, at least for me.
Yes, all online games have everlasting cheating issue. (Unless the game is dead like The Crew 1 and 2, which cheaters don't even bother to cheat in PvP in those games lol)
Cheating in NFS World was minimal in its early years, but worsened in its later years.
Thing is, back than I did buy some speedboost to buy things.
There was one time 50,000 SB was for like 6 AUD, but I didn't have payment method at the time so I didn't get any.
And when I got my prepaid phone, I used the credit to buy speedboost each month (I think I got the MR2 as a gift?) till I finally got an aventador and then mclaren F1 maybe less than 1 year till the servers would be shutdown?
The other big problem was just how the collision physics worked. Often you'd get rammed to **** and be unable to catch up, because for some reason, it mostly works in there flavour.
(Mind you, I was playing from australia using ADSL, so my ping wasn't the best...).
I think I had the elite eclipse, but I don't have screenshots of it, at least not on my laptop...
My almost maxed Aventador a short while before they closed the servers (Also had an F1 at 840)
(I did beat a C class Supra with a 'boat' Eclipse GT, also in C class, and there was this time I came 0.39 seconds behind an A 711 LP650-4 Roadster with my B 597 MR2 in a 10 second drag race - I did 10.88.)
So yeah, it was a bit P2W, but what free to play game isn't?
PS: Was it only mid 2015? Gosh it felt like forever ago...
Point is, there was still a good mix of cars that were competitive and not super expensive.
And I've driven the RSR in Heat, it's really nothing special, at least with how I build my cars (but I've tested different setups, and there are certainly other cars that are better).
Right now, it's just speedlists and time trials, hardly anything in terms of PvP. It's not just money, but also Skill, and the people who pour money into things are also the same type to pour in time to refine and stuff.
