Re: About the system requirements.

Hey guys, i'm back with sort of an update.

I chatted yesterday with another advisor and told him about Windows 7 compatibility. He was very helpful and i asked him if anything changes that i get contacted via email from either someone at EA or Ghost Games themselves. He assured me he passed the info to the devs Ghost Games so now i guess we just have to wait and see if maybe the system requirements will change.

As soon as i have more info on this i'll post it here, but for now, i just have to wait for a response from them.

So let's just keep out fingers crossed and hope for the best, who knows we might be able to run it on Windows 7 also. 🙂

@UncleMike_89 No fence dude but why do you still hold on too a superold system like Win 7?, personally i have never used Win7. Since i jumped directly from Wista too Win 8, but you gotta understand Win 10 is the future. Atleast when it comes too AAA gaming, even some indiestudios like SCS Software. They have recently switched from DX9 too DX11 on American Truck SIm and ETS2, so they are also stopping support for Win 7 and older systems. Mostly because steam is doing the same, anyway if you want too play the best games. Then you need too update too Win 10, sorry too say this but that is the harsh reality. You cant countinue living in the past, WIn 7 end support 20th January 2020, after that you are screwed literally. Plus dont listen too all negativy about wiN 10, yes there was some problems in the start. But i have personally never had problems, its much faster then Win 7 garantuly.
  • @BVBgamer88None taken. But again from my part no offence, i've heard a lot of people saying win 10 is the future and all the stuff and believe me it's nowhere near as good or fast as some say.

Also even if support ends it doesn't matter, the real security on anyone's PC is antivirus if they have some. What people keep saying have windows update to get all security stuff is pretty much zero in terms of actual security. Actual updates that come out only help improve stability and make the OS faster but in terms of sheer security you should always have antivirus installed on not depend on the OS itself.

Also i doubt devs won't support win 7 or 8.1 because even if they are nearing the end of their lifecycle the fact still remains : DX9, DX10, DX11 are all suported and work perfectly on win 7 and 8.1. And devs won't just all start making ONLY games with DX12 because that's not how gaming works. If you take a look at a few games from EA like

    1. Anthem

    2. PVZ Battle for Neighbourville

    3. FIFA 20

    4. NFS Heat

You'll find all of these run on DX11. The fact that EA says you need win 10 i find very weird especially since Anthem and FIFA 20 also runs on win 7. FIFA 20 does have win 7 and 8.1 stated in the requirements. But all of these games are using the Frostbite engine and if at least one of them (even though Anthem and FIFA 20 already work) works with no problems on win 7 and 8.1 then i see no point in why NFS Heat shouldn't.

Anthem also says the same thing in the requirements : win 10 for MINIMUM and RECOMMENDED yet it works on win 7, just search on youtube for videos.

BTW i don't where you get your info from, but i can tell for sure steam isn't dropping support for win 7. Hell there are even users with win xp that use steam let alone win 7 or 8.1 so that's just wrong info.

@UncleMike_89 Nono if you dont belive me go into American truck sims forum, there are lots of people there that has proof that. Steam is also dropping support on Win 7, that is one of many reason why many indie devs are forced too drop support for Win 7. I wouldent told you this if you were joking or lying. You can also contact Valve who is the owner of steam, they will confirm what i just told you.
  • @BVBgamer88

Can you please stop with the ridiculous nonsense about Steam ?

If you actually have proof and i mean REAL PROOF that Steam will drop support of WIndows 7 then please share it. I have searched the web a lot and found no evidence of this so i do not know what inaccurate info you have. Also if something like this were to happen there's no reason that me or anyone else should contact Valve because when Valve actually decides they don't want to support Windows 7 anymore they will just inform all steam users of this and this has not happened yet and probably won't happen for at least 2-3 years.

Developers don't just use only DX12. They also use DX11 and even DX10 so i don't see any point in them in going just for DX12. Also if you looked at some games you'll find out even if they have DX12 they run worse than on DX11. I played the new Modern Warfare 2019 Beta and the game uses only DX12 but it was also implemented by the devs for Windows 7 also. And believe me the game ran like crap. The FPS counter was showing i've got 70 FPS when in reality it felt like 40 FPS. And this was an issue that all players who were using Windows 7 in the beta had.

There isn't any proof but since they dropped support for XP and Vista early this year it'll only be a matter of time before they do drop support for windows 7 since they follow the masses with that one.

If Microsoft is discontinuing support I would have no doubt that Microsoft will push companies like valve to drop support for windows 7 as well so as to push Windows 10 sales up. It's only a matter of time.

  • Come on EA or Ghost Games, can't we at least get an update on this ?

I'm tired of contacting to live chat so many times. I already talked with at least 4-5 advisors in the past 2 weeks and none of them have any info as wether Need For Speed Heat will run on Windows 7 when it launches.

The game releases in like 5-6 days, can't you guys at least give us some on info ?

I want to buy the game, i really do, but if the requirements regarding OS aren't updated how do i know if it will also run on Windows 7. In the requirements it also clearly says DirectX 11.

Currently on the origin page store in both MINIMUM and RECOMMENDED requirements it ONLY SAYS Windows 10. I find it very hard to believe since the game uses DirectX 11 and other newer games which use Frosbite such as Anthem, FIFA 20, Battlefield 5 all run on Windows 7.

Will Need For Speed Heat also run on Windows 7 ?

Please guys, just give us an answer, that's all i ask, no more no less.

There is one guy who tried to pre load his copy on windows 7 and it told him when he tried to download it that he requires windows 10. It wouldn't let him download it because of that so he had to upgrade to download it.

I forgot what thread it was but it was in the general discussion as well.

  • Shame, I was looking forward to buying the Deluxe edition but I'm not going to touch W10 with a 100m pole.

No real reason not to have W7 as an option since it runs on DX11 but I guess EA hates money now.

I found something while looking on youtube.

And please EA do not ban me for this, this i just some info i thought it might be useful.

    [Removed - Admin.]

The video is NOT mine and the youtube channel is NOT mine either. I just found this video while i was watching some gameplay on youtube.

Please do not ban me, i only want to try and help out other people with that video. I have no idea wether the video is LEGIT or not, but the person ran the game in windowed mode i think so that other people can see that he had opened the window with the OS and the window with the actual game running.

Please do not ban me for posting this link, i'm only trying to help out other people. I don't know if this is allowed to do, to post links to youtube videos, but i just want to help.
