@gameratnik_07 I've split your post into its own thread because the previous thread was several years old. I also moved it to the Other NFS Games section.
An Origin Error 1638 refers to the Microsoft Visual C++ Restributable, 2010 versions. Uninstall both the x86 and x64 versions from your system: Click the Windows icon in the lower left corner of your screen, then select Settings > Apps, and click on each entry to see the option to uninstall. (Make sure you're only uninstalling the 2010 versions, since you may have a number of entries from other years.) Then you can download new copies directly from Microsoft:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523
Even though it's not listed, both will run just fine in Windows 10.
Just downloaded need for speed shift. Finished download went to do the install. Got the 'Installation error code 1638' window popping up. I've looked at other threads on this telling me to uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ Restributable, 2010, I've uninstalled both versions of it and reinstalled them. Then restarted my pc. When I restarted my pc I went back to origin and was told to repair the game. To which I did so and then I still try and install and get the same Installation error code 1638.
Any ideas?
